SUNDAY, AUGUST 17, 2008: Raptor Education Group, Inc (REGI). 6 PM at the park amphitheater. Back by popular demand, this is an informative and entertaining program for all ages. Have you ever compared the wingspan of a Bald Eagle with your wingspan? Witnessed the tiny Saw-whet owl? Viewed the fastest animal in the world, the Peregrine Falcon? | SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 27, 2008: Universe in the Park 8 PM at the park amphitheater. Don’t miss the extremely popular outreach program of the Department of Astronomy at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. “UitP” is predicated on a very simple idea, that the best environment in which to introduce the general public to astronomy is outside under dark skies. For the past five years they have taken “UitP” to state parks throughout Wisconsin during the summer camping season, giving talks and slide shows, answering questions, and letting the general public view astronomical objects through one of the UitP telescopes. www.astro.wisc.edu/uitp/ |
